Film vs Digital What’s Best for Your Wedding?

October 23, 2025

The film vs digital debate is basically like asking whether you should buy a vintage record player or just stream Spotify. One is nostalgic, beautiful, and expensive. The other is fast, reliable, and lets me shoot 2,000 photos without crying into my wallet. Both have their place, and both can be magic - I won't lie i love film, I think it's great and perfect for weddings.

Film gives your photos that dreamy, cinematic softness that digital tries to imitate but never fully nails. Every frame feels intentional. Special. Like a time capsule. The downside? Each click is about five bucks. So if Uncle Gary blinks, that’s a $5 blink. Worth it? Sometimes, yes.

Digital, on the other hand, is crisp, quick, forgiving, and perfect for fast-moving wedding days where moments happen instantly and constantly. It allows flexibility, creativity, and experimentation without financial heartbreak. Most couples end up loving a mix the efficiency of digital with a sprinkle of nostalgic film magic to round things out.

Look at these two pictures below, same moment. Different mediums. Different feelings.
